"One in a Melon" Watermelon Cake Smash!

First birthdays are a big milestone, and most definitely an occasion to celebrate!

Your baby is one, and you survived sleepless nights and learning what it means to be a parent. And, you fell head over heels in love with your child. You celebrated the first time they rolled over, the first time they learned to sit up, and then crawling. You were happy babies don't wear shoes, because they have the cutest feet in the world.

Watching your child grow and accomplish milestones in the first year is like nothing else, and it is impossible to explain the joy to someone who hasn't experienced it yet.

We celebrate with a cake, and a party, but truly we celebrate with our hearts. They joy and pride we feel watching our children learn and grown. The first year reminds us to slow down and focus on simple joy - like the first time your child smiles at you when you walk in the door! Melt.

So many firsts to come in the future, and so many to celebrate in the first year. Seeing them eat cake for the first time to celebrate a birthday is one of so many exciting moments as a parent. And it makes you want to slow time down, because you realize the first year flew by! Some day you will be sharing your first year photos at your own child's college graduation, or wedding day!

I love being a part of the celebration, and being able to capture this precious time for parents. And I am perfectly happy to be covered in frosting at the end of every session!

Happy first birthday Piper!!! You have such a wonderful family!!
